Please join the Alliance for Aging Research for a “day after” conversation on the impact of the 2012 elections with our special guests, Celinda Lake and Sheila Burke, moderated by Sue Peschin, COO of the Alliance for Aging Research.  Celinda Lake is a prominent pollster and political strategist for Democrats and progressives who currently serves as President of Lake Research Partners.  Sheila Burke is the former Chief of Staff to Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole who currently serves as Senior Public Policy Advisor for Baker Donelson.  This one-hour call will focus on what the results mean for medical research funding and senior health issues, including the outlook for relevant Senate and House committees in the coming year.

On June 9 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (EST), Dr. Richard Hodes, NIA Director, will discuss federal budget constraints and their impact on NIA, strategies his agency is employing to address them, and a look to the future. In particular, Dr. Hodes will address the Institute’s tight payline–an issue of great concern to the research community.
